Introduction DJI Inspire 3 For professional videographers
After years, DJI has finally upgraded the Inspire series drones and introduced a very professional model with several important updates. Inspire 3 is the new product of 2023 by DJI, which will be launched this summer. Inspire 2 was launched almost 5 years ago with the ability to support Zenmuse cameras, and today its upgraded version, DJI Inspire 3, was introduced with a wide range of professional capabilities. A drone that has reached a new level in terms of video recording capability, safety, flight time and portability and assembly.
Inspire 3 is based on the T740 platform, which you can assemble for flight in the shortest possible time. The total weight of this multi-rotor with two batteries, DL-Mount lens, gimbal camera system, PROSSD memory and propellers is 3995 grams. But the maximum takeoff weight of this DJI Drone is 4310 grams. Inspire 3 is powered by DJI 3511S engines, which can fly over the horizon at a maximum speed of 94 km/h despite these powerful engines. The maximum climbing speed is 8 meters per second. The maximum landing speed is 10 m/s horizontally and 8 m/s vertically.
X9-8K Air camera for professional filming
Inspire 3 is equipped with the X9-8K Air camera, which can record full-frame movies with 8K quality and 25 frames per second in Cinema DNG format, despite the full-frame CMOS sensor and 18 mm DL lenses. It can also record 8K videos at 75 frames per second in ProRes RAW format. Thanks to the new CineCore 3.0 image processing system, this camera is able to record clear videos with special quality. The weight of this camera without lens is 516 grams.
The X9-8K Air camera supports a set of DL-Mount lenses that have an aperture of F2.8. Those interested can use F2.8 full frame lenses with DL 24/35/50 mm for other scenarios.
8K videos with ProRes RAW quality help you capture very detailed details of the scene you want, which provides a natural and completely realistic view, especially on large screens.
A 161° wide-angle FPV camera with a 1/1.8-inch sensor is located on top of the main camera, which is elegantly integrated with the drone body and can change the angle vertically up to 161°. The camera also sends a 1080p live feed at 60 fps to the operator from a range of 15 km.
Support for dual and native ISO helps users to capture images with full details and low noise in areas where the lighting conditions are not suitable. Something that may be seen in TV movies and promotional teasers.
In videography, dynamic range refers to the different color range between the darkest point and the brightest point, which allows videographers to have more control over shadows and highlights. The X9-8K Air camera uses 14 dynamic ranges, which you can certainly access in fewer cameras.
The Inspire 3 features a new feature called the DJI Cinematic Color System (DCCS). Despite this, the camera system retains important colors that improve your results. You can definitely see its effect better when filming scenes with natural colors.
O3 Pro video transmission system
For a quadcopter with a camera, a powerful image transmission system is required so that the operator can receive videos instantly during flight and have more control over how to shoot. Inspire 3 drone uses the most advanced DJI image transmission system, which sends a live feed of 1080 pixels at a speed of 60 frames per second to the operator. The range of instant video transmission in case of single control is 15 km for FPV camera and 13 km for main camera. When dual control, the video transmission range is 12 km for the FPV camera and 11.2 km for the main camera. Of course, 4K and 30 fps live feed can be received from a distance of 5 km with the main camera.
9 visual sensors to detect obstacles
One of the most important features of the DJI Inspire 3 drone is its high safety. 9 visual sensors are integrally integrated with the body of the drone, which can detect obstacles from all directions and determine the best path to move forward from among them. Of course, this obstacle detection system has a fundamental change with the previous series of Mavic drones such as Mavic 3 and even Inspire. You can enable or disable detection of up, down and forward obstacles independently. In different scenarios, you can manually set a specific range for the obstacle warning so that you will be warned when approaching obstacles.
Flight path planning with Waypoint Pro
Maybe you have already learned about waypoint and flight path planning in Mavic series. But in Inspire 3, we see a very advanced and professional version of Waypoint Pro, which, despite the RTK positioning system, allows the operator to plan the route in a completely intelligent way.
It may be difficult for you to understand, but the creators and the DJI engineering group know very well that you can use this special feature in many filming stages and release your creativity in many fields. There are other options under Waypoint Pro, the most important of which is Repeatable Routes. By activating this feature, you can repeat your desired route and it will keep all the parameters you need, including height, speed, gimbal angle and camera settings. Long time-lapses such as the change of seasons are some of the things that you need to repeat the flight to produce.
Subject tracking with Spotlight Pro
If you intend to film moving subjects such as vehicles, people, etc., it is better to use the Spotlight Pro function, which keeps the subject in the center of the camera frame and does not lose it under any circumstances. DJI has reached this important feature by using machine algorithms and tries to take into account the desired subject of the operator without any manual control. In such a situation, the operator can certainly focus more on how to film and take pictures.
RTK system with centimeter accuracy
Inspire 3 is equipped with an RTK positioning system with centimeter accuracy, which makes the route planning more accurate and makes the drone more stable in flight. This module is integrated in the body of the drone so that it does not have a negative effect on the aerodynamics and aesthetics of the quadcopter. Very strong antennas provide three types of GNSS positioning: GPS, BeiDou and Galileo.
28 minutes of flight with a single charge of the TB51 battery
In order to be able to record more and better details, we need to fly longer in the air. The TB51 battery set gives you the opportunity to fly over the horizon for 28 minutes at a speed of 94 km/h and record the videos and pictures you need at the same time. The TB51 smart battery has a capacity of 2480 mAh and a voltage of 23.1 volts, which makes up about 470 grams of the total weight of the drone.
DJI RC Plus remote control
All the features mentioned above such as camera, flight planning and obstacle detection system must be programmed and executed by a remote control. DJI uses the DJI RC Plus controller for the Inspire 3. The remote, which is very handy in appearance, has a 7-inch display with 1200 nits brightness, which will allow excellent monitoring outdoors and under direct sunlight.
Buttons, HDMI output port, high response speed thanks to strong antennas make you have a perfect performance while flying. This remote is powered by two internal and external batteries, the internal battery with a capacity of 3250 mAh has a charge duration of 3.3 hours, and the WB37 external battery increases its charge duration to 6 hours. The dual control that we saw in the previous version has been improved and the link between the operators has been improved. Now, if the operator loses the signals of the quadcopter, the second operator who controls the camera system can take control of the drone and direct it to continue flying.
DJI Pilot 2 app
For easy access to camera settings and more video and imaging options, a user interface called DJI Pilot 2 is provided, which makes it easier to monitor the flight and video work.
